UK Visa Test Preparation Classes

To be able to get a work, study or family visa for the UK, you may need to take an English language test to prove your ability to speak, listen, write or read English. There are different tests that use the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) guidance to assess your abilities.

It is important that you take a Secure English Language Test (SELT) approved by the Home Office. The current approved exam boards are:

• IELTS
• Pearson
• Language Cert

Further Leave to Remain (A1)/Tier 2 (Sportsperson) (A1)

For Further Leave to Remain/Tier 2 (Sportsperson), you must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR Level A1 in Speaking and Listening.

Further Leave to Remain (Visa Extension) (A2)

After two-and-a-half years in the UK, non-EEA nationals on the five-year partner or parent route to the settlement must pass a SELT in Speaking and Listening at A2 level in order to qualify for further leave to remain.

Indefinite Leave to Remain (To Settle) or British Citizenship (B1)

For Indefinite Leave to Remain (To Settle) or British Citizenship you must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level B1 in Speaking and Listening.

Skilled Worker / Minister of Religion (Tier 2 Visa)

You must prove you can read, write, speak and understand English to at least level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale.
